“Then God said, ‘Let us make man in our image, in our likeness, and let them rule over the fish of the sea and the birds of the air, over the livestock, over all the earth, and over all the creatures that move along the ground.’”

Every Monday from 12:30 pm to 2:30 pm the Auburn Food Pantry opens its doors to those in need. It is located in the basement of St. Benedict’s Catholic Church in Auburn (125 E Washington St.). Each month Auburn Baptist will chose a different item(s) to collect for the pantry

“Consequently, faith comes from hearing the message, and the message is heard through the word of Christ.  But I ask: Did they not hear? Of course they did: ‘Their voice has gone out into all the earth their words to the ends of the world.'” – Romans 10:17-18 (NIV)
Love Packages is “a ministry aimed at putting Christian literature and bibles into the hands of people around the world. Christians all across the USA – people just like you – send us bibles, Sunday School materials, books, etc. We send them to ministries in many poor countries to distribute freely to people hungry for the Word of God. These are materials that would have sat collecting dust on shelves or been thrown away. Now it’s being used to reach souls for Christ, encourage and build up the Church, and the raising up and training of leaders to shine the light in dark places.”
Auburn Baptist Church has recently become a proud sponsor of Love Packages. If you have any used Christian materials we would be happy to have you contact us at amy@auburnbaptist.net and make arrangements to drop them off at the church (316 W Adams, Auburn, IL).

 the little church library

Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to me path.” – Psalm 119:105 (NIV)
Little free libraries are popping up around the country in communities, in school yards, in front yards, and other public places. The purposes of these little libraries is to share the love of reading with your community. Anyone can take a book to read from the library without any expectation of having to return it. At the same time, if you have a book that you are finished with and willing to share with others, you can leave a book at the library as well.
At Auburn Baptist Church we have adopted the idea of the little free library and installed our library in front of the church where everyone in the community can have easy access to it. The twist? Everything within will have a Christian message or at the very least support Christian values. Books, DVD’s, Bibles, etc. will be free to select and take home without any expectation of it ever being returned. The idea is to spread and share the love and truth of Christ with all who stop by. Likewise, if you have a book or resource that you would like to share, feel free to drop it off in the library box for the next person to use. (Please make sure it supports Christian morals and values. We reserve the right to remove any materials that do not fit the purposes of this mission.)
